Georgetown Community Children's Choruses
Austin Fine Arts Academy is proud to present our Community Children's Chorus! This spring, we will be offering two sections of GT Community Children's chorus to choose from: Traditional Community Children's Chorus on Tuesday's from 4pm-5pm and a Kindergarten only Chorus on Thursday's 2pm-3pm!
Our Children's Choruses will be led once again by Dr. Diana Ellis who holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from The University of North Texas, a Master's degree in Voice and Vocal Pedagogy from Mississippi College, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education from Louisiana Christian University. In addition to her 20 years as a college professor, she has an extensive background in directing choirs of all ages and is looking forward to bringing this chorus back to life again!
In addition to learning and performing a variety of traditional children's choral literature and song-covers of popular kids songs (sacred and secular), we will incorporate fun activities which will explore vocal sounds, part-singing, note reading, staging, and movement. The traditional chorus is for children currently attending grades Kindergarten through 5th grade and will consist of sixteen weekly rehearsals, beginning the week of January 13th through the week of May 5th, 2025 (no rehearsals the week of Spring Break) with a concert/recital to end the semester.
Our Thursday Kindergarten Only Chorus will also consist of 16 weekly rehearsals, beginning the week of
January 13th through the week of May 5th, 2025 (no rehearsals the week of Spring Break) with a concert/recital to end the semester. Please scroll all the way down to the Kindergarten Chorus registration at the bottom of the page to register.
All rehearsals will be held in the Kids/Student building, room 104 of First Baptist Georgetown. See map below.
